my dear friend pat and i went out for lunch in freo [fremantle ]and were amazed at how many cars had these cute little flags on their windows..these are all to do with australia day on the 26th january..
australia day is a national holiday to celebrate the landing of the first governor arthur phillip at sydney cove in 1788...
australians really go to town there is sky works [ fireworks ] and a lot of comaradery and basically having a knees up..
then we went past fishermans wharf on our way to lunch and can you see the beautiful bronze sculptures ..so life like .
it is so nice sometimes to just enjoy the mateship and lovely surroundings that my little bit of aussie has to offer...we had a really nice day 'thanks pat'....
